At Barrow & District Physiotherapy we provide a bespoke Sports Therapy service to meet your needs and standards.

You will first be given a comprehensive and thorough initial assessment to determine your needs and ascertain what the main problems are and how best to treat these problems.

Injuries in sport can vary considerably, but can include acute injuries, muscle strains, sprained ligaments or tendons, tendinitis, tears, dislocations, pre and post surgery rehabilitation.

And can also include dysfunction in movement, strength, balance, co-ordination as well as any sports specific function.

What will be included in my exercise programme?

At Barrow and District Physiotherapy you will first be given a full initial assessment, whereby your Physiotherapist will gather information from you to help develop your main aims and goals and to work towards an exercises programme that will suit your rehabilitation needs. This may include the following:

  • Strength and conditioning
  • Mobilising joints
  • Stretching muscles
  • Pain management discussions and advice. Which may include seeking advice from your GP.
  • Muscle control and endurance
  • Functional exercises
  • Sport specific exercises
  • Balance and proprioception exercises
